Encova Insurance, in partnership with the West Virginia Manufacturers Association (WVMA), presented the annual Encova Safety Award during the WVMA’s Annual Meeting & Winter Convention, which occurred last week at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, WV.
The 2025 Encova Safety Award was presented to Swanson Industries, which is located in Morgantown, WV. Swanson Industries is a premier provider of manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, and distribution services of mining equipment, hydraulic cylinders, and related industrial equipment across the United States. Swanson has established a strong presence in the mining and heavy industry sectors. Swanson has a reputation for delivering the highest-quality products and unparalleled technical expertise, enhancing the long-term safety and efficiency of its customers’ operations. In June 2025, Swanson Industries, a portfolio company of Turnspire Capital Partners, acquired Off-Highway Business of TransAxle Holdings, LLC. serving a diverse array of customers across the hard rock mining, metals, construction, aerospace, and marine sectors, among others.
“It is such an honor to present this award along with the WVMA,” said Connie Marshall, Senior Agency Operations & Marketing Specialist at Encova. “Working with our association partners and policyholders, we focus on eliminating workplace injuries and reducing the cost of doing business by creating a culture of safety within the workplace. That is the core of what we do with our workers’ compensation coverage, and Swanson embraces this philosophy in their daily practices. This award is our way of recognizing Swanson for choosing to make safety a priority through management commitment, accountability and measuring results.”
“Congratulations to Swanson on being this year’s Encova Safety Award winner,” said Bill Bissett, President of the WVMA. “As a member company of the WVMA, we need to celebrate Swanson’s positive legacy in safety and performance. We also want to thank Encova Insurance for their longtime partnership in supporting manufacturing in West Virginia and the WVMA through our Encova Safety Committee and other programs.”
