WVMA All State Meeting 1040x150 1b

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has presented Eagle Manufacturing Co. of Wellsburg with four Governor’s Commendations for International Market Entry awards for making a contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.

This year could be a turning point for the fate of West Virginia’s manufacturers and the workers they employ.

I’m not talking about the presidential election (although that, too, is incredibly important). Instead, I’m talking about whether the Senate votes to confirm Judge Merrick Garland, President Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court.

Allowing Judge Garland to sit on the highest court in the land will cause a massive shift in the court’s attitude toward business. This change will not be a good one for West Virginia’s economy.

Eagle Manufacturing Co. has been named West Virginia’s top manufacturing brand and among the top 50 brands in the nation by HBSDealer, the industry publication that focuses on hardware and building suppliers, and covers retailers, distributors and manufacturers who serve hardware store, lumberyard and farm and ranch markets.

The company manufactures more than 1,000 products, including safety cans, safety cabinets, poly drums and spill containment and material handling products.

Charleston, W.Va. – BrickStreet Insurance, in partnership with the West Virginia Manufacturers Association (WVMA), presented the inaugural BrickStreet and WVMA Safety Award during the WVMA Annual Dinner at the Clay Center Thursday evening.

The 2016 BrickStreet and WVMA Safety Award was presented to Sistersville Tank Works, a manufacturer of custom pressure vessels, storage tanks and other specialty products, for safety excellence.

“We are incredibly proud to present this award in partnership with WVMA,” said BrickStreet CEO Greg Burton. “Several years ago, we created an association program to support and reward WVMA member companies for their efforts in driving safety-related performance. We see this safety award as an extension of that, and it is an honor to recognize Sistersville Tank Works for the company’s dedication to creating a safer workplace.”
